Biggie Spudz

A potato is a hard shape to make into a character. No neck, no limbs, no obvious face. The fix was to lean on it: make the body the whole silhouette and let the arms do everything.

The character

One arm flexes, the other holds a pair of spoons like drumsticks. Big blue eyes sit high on the body so there is room for a wide grin underneath, and the toque adds height to a shape that is otherwise a blob. Freckled skin texture keeps it reading as a potato and not an egg.

The wordmark

Two weights again, and for the same reason: "Biggie" in a soft brown script-ish rounded face, "Spudz" in heavier tan caps with a black slab shadow. The lockup runs horizontal so it fits a box lid, a cup sleeve, or a sign above a counter.
