Sawing logs. That is the whole brief, and the job was to draw it without explaining it.
The mark
A bearded lumberjack with heavy lids and a sleep cap, mid-yawn, dragging a saw across a log without much conviction. Two small Z's float off the cap. Everything about the pose is decelerating, which is the opposite of how a lumberjack is normally drawn, and that contrast is the joke.
The wordmark
SLUMBER is filled with wood grain, cut from the same blue as his shirt so the type and the character stay in one palette. JACK sits below in white with a soft blue edge. The word runs left, the character leans in from the right, and his arm crosses into the type so the two halves lock instead of sitting side by side.
